Minnesota Sports-- The University of Minnesota women's hockey team swept a weekend WCHA series with St. Cloud State.
MINNEAPOLIS - The University of Minnesota women's hockey team swept a weekend WCHA series with St. Cloud State.
The Golden Gophers won 8-0 on Friday and 4-1 Saturday before crowds of over 1,000 at Ridder Arena.
Amanda Kessel had a goal and two assists in Saturday's game against the still winless Huskies. She had two goals the night before. Becky Kortum had two goals over the weekend as did teammate Jen Schoullis. Goalie Noora Raty had 22 saves on Saturday and split time in the net Friday with Jenny Lura.
The Gophs' are 20-7-2 overall and 15-7-2 in the WCHA.
