TO THE EDITOR: Financially pinched?
Join the crowd here in the less-than-United States, where from 1980 to 2005 more than 80 percent of the total increase in income went to the top one percent of the population.
The gap between the super-rich and everybody else is now greater than at any time since before the Depression of the 1930’s [NY Times, Jan. 26]. Some folks are doing more-than-fine, thank you, while the rest of us are starting to save rusty nails against an ever-more-uncertain future.
Makes an average citizen wonder, doesn’t it?
