MADISON - The Ohio State Buckeyes were number-one when Wisconsin beat them in football last fall. Now, Coach Bo Ryan's basketball team would like to match that accomplishment.
The game is at 1 p.m. at the Kohl Center and will be broadcast by ESPN.
When the Badgers host Ohio State today they will be taking on an undefeated team that is 24-0, with such a strong start to the season that even a defeat would leave the Buckeyes with a two-game lead in the Big Ten Conference standings.
Wisconsin basketball has matched up with a number-one ranked team 20 times in school history, losing 19. The lone win came against Ohio State in 1962 when the Badgers won at home 87-62 against an OSU squad which featured Jerry Lucas, John Havlichek and Bob Knight and snapped a two-plus year Big Ten winning streak.
