UW wrestlers snap losing streak by beating OSU 23-18
Wisconsin Business-- The University of Wisconsin wrestling team depended on its seniors on Senior Day to win a dual meet over Ohio State Sunday afternoon 25-18.
MADISON - The University of Wisconsin wrestling team depended on its seniors on Senior Day to win a dual meet over Ohio State Sunday afternoon 25-18.
Seniors Trevor Brandvold of River Falls and Eric Bugenhagen scored back-to-back major decisions at 197 pounds and heavyweight which helped UW rally from an 18-15 deficit.
Travis Rutt got the Badgers's rally going with a major decision at 184. Also winning for UW were Tom Kelliher at 125 and Tyler Graff 133 and Cole Schmitt at 149.
No. 12 Wisconsin, 10-5-1 overall and 1-4-1 in the Big Ten, wrestles at No. 3 Penn State Friday and closes its regular season Sunday at Michigan State.
