Elmwood girls recover quickly to beat Immanuel

Just 48 hours after losing in overtime to No. 6 Independence, the Elmwood high school girls' basketball team didn't get their hearts broken again on Valentine's Day as the Raiders beat Eau Claire Immanuel Lutheran 50-41.

EAU CLAIRE - Just 48 hours after losing in overtime to No. 6 Independence, the Elmwood High School girls' basketball team didn't get their hearts broken again on Valentine's Day as the Raiders beat Eau Claire Immanuel Lutheran 50-41.

Elmwood used a 17-7 run in the third quarter to break a 24-24 halftime tie.

Christina McKune had a season-high 22 points, 15 of them coming off three-pointers. Kayla Smith finished with seven points for the Raiders and McKayla Brunner scored six.

ECIL, 6-10 overall, was led in scoring by Abbie Hein's 19 points. Elmwood picked up its fourth win of the season.
