MILWAUKEE - A balanced scoring attack offset weak shooting as Marquette holds off the Seton Hall Pirates 73-64.
Jimmy Butler's 16 points led the Golden Eagles to a win they needed to stay in the hunt for an NCAA playoff berth. With a record of 16-11, Marquette probably needs to win at least three of its last four regular season games.
The Golden Eagles misfired on 10 of 26 free throws and hit just 25 percent from beyond the arc, but they had five players in double figures. An 18-5 run in the middle of the second half gave Marquette a lead it wouldn't give up. Marquette had a 40-22 rebounding edge and got 30 points from its bench to get back to break-even in the Big East at 7-7.
