UW wrestlers close with win over Michigan State
The University of Wisconsin wrestling team finished its regular season with a 29-9 dual meet win at Michigan State Sunday.
EAST LANSING, Mich. - The University of Wisconsin wrestling team finished its regular season with a 27-9 dual meet win at Michigan State Sunday.
The No. 16 ranked Badgers won seven of 10 matches at Jenison Fieldhouse led by a pin from Shane McQuade at 141 pounds and a major decision by River Falls' Trevor Brandvold at 197.
Also winning for the Badgers were Tyler Graff at 133, Ben Jordan at 174, Travis Rutt at 184 and Eric Bugenhagen at heavyweight.
Wisconsin finished the regular season 11-6-1 overall and 2-5-1 in the Big Ten. The Badgers bounced back from a loss at Penn State Friday 30-12. They will take the week off and then compete in the Big Ten Tournament in Evanston, Ill. March 5-6.
