Liriano says his shoulder feels better

FT. MEYERS, Fla. - Minnesota Twins pitcher Francisco Liriano threw some long toss yesterday at spring training and reported his tired arm felt better than it did last week.

He told reporters after making several 120-foot throws that he would likely pitch from the mound on Tuesday or Wednesday of this week to see how the shoulder feels.

Liriano had complained last week of a sore left shoulder.

The University of Minnesota baseball team will be calling Target Field home this season. The Golden Gophers will play all of their Big Ten home games at the Twins outdoor ballpark in downtown Minneapolis. The schedule includes 12 conference games beginning with a doubleheader against Purdue on April 1st. Minnesota was supposed to play 31 home games this season at the Metrodome before its roof collapsed in December. The Gophers lost their season opener 14-1 to St.John's of New York in the Big Ten-Big East Challenge Friday afternoon in Florida.
