PHOENIX - The Milwaukee Brewers are holding their first full workout at spring training today in Phoenix.
Owner Mark Attanasio and new manager Ron Roenicke plan to spell out their expectations to the players. General manager Doug Melvin has made it no secret that the Brewers are “all in” this year, as they pursue a championship in what could be the final Milwaukee season for impending free agent slugger Prince Fielder.
Melvin traded for starters Shaun Marcum and Cy Young winner Zack Greinke to bolster the pitching staff. The pitchers have been working out since last week, but they’ll throw to live batters for the first time today. Exhibition games begin next Monday.
