A close game between Ellsworth and Baldwin-Woodville turned into a big B-W win Friday as the Blackhawks beat the Panthers 55-39 at Ellsworth.
Ellsworth was outscored by 15 points in the fourth quarter of Friday's home loss.
"It came down to Baldwin making more plays down the stretch," Ellsworth head coach Cory Brathol said to the Red Wing Republican-Eagle.
Baldwin-Woodville hit 9 of 10 free throws in the final quarter.
Jimmy Miska led Ellsworth (12-9 overall, 7-7 Middle Border) with 17 points. Chris Niedfeldt scored 11.
EHS tied for fifth in the league. Prescott, by virtue of its 50-42 win at home against Somerset Friday finished tied for second with the 'Hawks at 9-5
The Panthers are seeded fourth in the Division 3 regionals. They play host to No. 5 Durand on Tuesday. It is Ellsworth first home playoff game in over a decade.
