MILWAUKEE - The Marquette University men’s basketball team broke a three-game winning streak with a 67-60 home loss to Cincinnati last night.
Senior Jimmy Butler scored 30 points in his final home appearance for the Golden Eagles. The Bearcats took control in the second half with a 9-0 run, and Marquette never got closer than five points the rest of the way. Cashmere Wright scored 15 points for Cincinnati, which won its fourth straight road game. They’re now 10-7 in the Big East, with double-digit conference victories for the first time since joining the league in 2005.
Marquette fell to 9-8 in the Big East and 18-12 overall. The Eagles will close out their regular season on Saturday at Seton Hall.
