Ellsworth girls head into playoffs with momentum

Ellsworth High School's girls' basketball team will head into the upcoming WIAA playoffs having won three out of their last four ballgames, including Thursday's 54-37 win over Baldwin-Woodville.

Ellsworth High School's girls' basketball team will head into the upcoming WIAA playoffs having won three out of their last four ballgames, including Thursday's 54-37 win over Baldwin-Woodville.

Ellsworth's defense held the Blackhawks under 10 points scoring in quarters two through fourth while they built up a sizeable lead.

Kayla Christopherson scored 25 points to lead the Panthers and Abbey Ristow scored eight points. Lydia Kuhl finished with seven points.

Ellsworth concludes the regular season 10-12 overall and 6-8 in the Middle Border Conference. The Panthers play Durand in the first round of the Division 3 regional tournament Tuesday.
