SARASOTA, Fla. - Carl Pavano allowed just one hit over three innings as the Twins shut out the Orioles 2-0 Thursday afternoon in Sarasota.
Pavano has thrown five scoreless innings in his two Grapefruit League starts this spring. Left-hander Glen Perkins worked two innings in relief of Pavano and reliever Jim Hoey pitched the seventh and eighth for the win.
The game was tied at zero until Minnesota's Brian Dozier hit a sacrifice fly and Luke Hughes added an RBI single in the eighth inning.
