GREEN BAY - Less than a month after winning the Super Bowl, Packer head coach Mike McCarthy is rewarded with a contract extension.
The team didn't reveal the dollar amount or length of the contract, but it was signed yesterday. McCarthy's previous contract ran through 2012.
General Manager Ted Thompson signed a new deal a little over three weeks ago, so the new security for McCarthy was no surprise. McCarthy became just the third Packer coach to lead his team to a Super Bowl title, following Vince Lombardi and Mike Holmgren.
