Bucks lose to Celtics 89-83, fall below .500 at home

MILWAUKEE - The Milwaukee Bucks only scored one free throw in the final three-and-a-half minutes last night, and they lost to Boston 89-83 at the Bradley Center.

Carlos Delfino tied the game by hitting a three-pointer with 3:37 left – and Milwaukee did not get another field goal after that. Paul Pierce sealed Boston’s fifth straight victory by converting a three-point-play with 17-point-nine seconds left. Pierce led the Celtics with 23 points. Kevin Garnett had 14 points and 11 rebounds, and former Buck Ray Allen scored 13 – including a key jumper that put the Celtics in front for good down the stretch.

Brandon Jennings led the Bucks with 23 points, six rebounds, and five assists. Milwaukee only scored 34 points in the second half, and shot 33-percent in the final 24 minutes.

The Bucks were again without Andrew Bogut, who missed his third straight game with a strained left rib-cage. Forward Ersan Ilyasova sat out for a fourth straight time due to a concussion.

The Bucks dropped below .500 at home, and have lost two straight and seven-of-their-last-10. And they’re still three-and-a-half games out of playoff contention with 21 to play. The Bucks are at Washington tomorrow night.
