MINNEAPOLIS - Minnesota Timberwolves star forward Kevin Love totaled 23 points and 17 rebounds in a loss last night to the Dallas Mavericks 108-105. The double-double was Love's 51st straight, tying Hall of Famer Moses Malone for the longest such streak since the 1976 NBA-ABA merger.
Malone's string of games came over two seasons, so Love holds the single season record.
Minnesota's Michael Beasley added 20 points and nine boards as the T'wolves fell to 15-and-50. Battling foul trouble, Dallas' Dirk Nowitzki scored 25 points in just 27 minutes of action to pace the winners.
The T'wolves continue their homestand tomorrow as the Indiana Pacers come to town.
