Join Girls on the Run and find way to grow, she says

TO THE EDITOR: Want to help your daughter grow up to be a confident and self-assured person?

Your third through fifth grader can join Girls on the Run of Bluff Country and find her own way to grow. Girls on the Run started last year at Prairie View Elementary and was a huge success. It is expanding to include Hillcrest and Prescott’s elementary school as well.

What a great opportunity in our own community. This is a national organization dedicated to helping girls grow up using a state-of-the-art curriculum that combines the exercise of running with mini-sessions of activities geared toward guiding girls to find who they are and what they are really capable of accomplishing. This gives them the confidence to take on the hard lessons of life in school academics and social circles to make good decisions that move them toward a positive future.

Moms and Dads, Grandmas or Aunts need to guide their girls toward this program. The program will start the week after spring break. Sign up in the school office or go on-line at www.girlsontherunbc.org to register and find more information.

This is another great opportunity to help our community’s future by strengthening our young girls. My hope is that all our girls benefit from this awesome program as we work to sustain it into the future.
