COLORADO SPRINGS, Col. - The University of Wisconsin Badgers men's hockey team which stumbled down the stretch started the WCHA playoffs the right way, beating Colorado College on its home ice 3-1 Friday.

Joe Faust, Ryan Little and Jefferson Dahl had goals for Wisconsin. Colorado College had jumped out to a 1-0 lead when Faust's first career goal tied it. Little's goal was essentially the game winner, while Faust's goal came in the closing seconds on an empty net.

The same two teams play again tonight in best of three series. Game would be on Sunday if necessary.

Marquette University's men's basketball program received a commitment from standout guard Todd Mayo. He is the half-brother of NBA guard O.J. Mayo. He reportedly chose the Golden Eagles over elite programs like Kansas. Mayo just scored 83 points in three games at the National Prep Championship in New Haven, Connecticut. He reportedly average 23 points and six rebounds a game this season for Notre Dame Prep in Fitchburg, Massachusetts. He joins signees Juan Anderson and Derrick Wilson in the 2011 recruiting class. Coach Buzz Williams still has one scholarship remaining.
