MINNEAPOLIS - The University of Minnesota men's hockey team has its season at stake tonight at Mariucci Arena. That's because the University of Alaska-Anchorage beat the Gophers at home Friday 4-3 in the best of three, WCHA playoff series.

The Seawolves scored the game's first three goals. The U tied the score in the third period but Anchorage's Mitch Bruitjsen scored the winning goal on a power play at the 13:28 mark of the third period.

Jake Hansen, Aaron Ness and Kevin Wehrs all scored goals for the Gophers with Wehrs' goal tying the game in the third period.

Minnesota is 16-13-6 and needs to at least get to the WCHA tournament final to have a shot at the NCAA Tournament field. A loss tonight would end their season. If the Gophers win, the final game of the playoff series will be on Sunday at Mariucci with the face-off at 7:05 p.m.
