The Division-One semi-finals are set in the boys’ state high school basketball tournament after last night’s inaugural “Super Tuesday.”

De Pere crushed Superior 63-39 at UW-Stevens Point. Reece Zoelle scored 23 points for De Pere, which out-shot Superior 57-to-36-percent.

Appleton East remained unbeaten with a 54-52 overtime win over Germantown at UW-Oshkosh. Caleb Zeegers scored off a rebound as the final horn sounded. But there was a controversy over a late start to the clock on the final sequence. Video replays showed that the final play lasted a half-second longer than what was showing on the clock, but WIAA associate director Deb Hauser said time issues are not reviewable.

Milwaukee Hamilton topped Beloit Memorial 54-47 in Milwaukee at the Al McGuire Center. Hamilton survived a fourth-quarter comeback effort that included a 12-4 run by Beloit.

And in last night’s fourth contest, Madison Memorial eliminated Milwaukee Riverside 60-48 at UW-Whitewater. Miles Chamberlain scored 19 points for Memorial.

So here’s the lineup for the Division-One semi-finals on Friday night in Madison – Madison Memorial will face Milwaukee Hamilton. And then Appleton East takes on De Pere. Those winners will go for the state title on Saturday. Semi-finals in the other four divisions begin tomorrow.
