Bemidji State upsets UMD at Final Five

Walters is a junior forward from Hibbing. The sixth-seeded Beavers rallied for the win and now will face No. 2 seed Denver this afternoon at the Xcel Energy Center at 2 p.m. This is the first year that Bemidji State has taken part in the Final Five, having joined the WCHA prior to the season. The Bulldogs will wait until next weekend to play in the first round of the NCAA Tournament.

In the other semifinal Colorado College built a 3-0 lead early in the contest and never looked back in beating Alaska-Anchorage 4-2. Alaska-Anchorage outshot CC, but could not cash in on its early scoring chances. The Tigers play North Dakota tonight in a semifinal matchup at 7 p.m.
