Eight Division-One teams are left in the Wisconsin girls’ high school basketball playoffs. And they’ll square off tonight in their inaugural “Super Tuesday” quarter-finals.
The boys did the same thing a week ago. Instead of playing the quarter-finals in Madison, each game will be played on a different college campus around the state. Milwaukee Pius XI, last year’s champion, will play Racine J.I. Case at Wisconsin Lutheran College in Milwaukee. Middleton, the AP’s top-ranked team, will play Franklin at UW-Whitewater. De Pere and Glendale Nicolet will square off at UW-Oshkosh. And Eau Claire North and Appleton East will face each other at UW-Stevens Point.
Tonight’s winners will play in the Division-One semi-finals on Friday night in Madison. Semis in four other divisions begin on Thursday.
