Letter: What Walker’s doing isn’t Democratic, he says

TO THE EDITOR: I support our teachers, in keeping their collective bargaining rights and a livable wage.

Destroying Wisconsin’s public education system is not the way to balance Wisconsin’s budget shortfall. Our teachers are not overpaid for what they do for us.

I do not like the way Gov. Walker is handling our state’s budget. Then he brings up Democratic process. I say “What?” What he is doing is not Democratic.

People say to me, why should I pay for better schools and why should I care if the teachers’ wages get cut? Here is just one reason why. Poor quality education in our state means more drop outs, more delinquency. That is trouble for all of us.

In conclusion, how is that going to help us personally or our Great State of Wisconsin? I want to be proud of our state and its values.
