NEW ORLEANS - The University of Wisconsin men will play their first NCAA Sweet-16 game in three years, when they face Butler tonight in a Southeast Regional semi-final in New Orleans. Tip-off will be around nine o’clock on TBS.

The fourth-seeded Badgers come in at 25-8, after eliminating Belmont and Kansas State in Rounds Two-and-Three. Butler is seeded eighth at 25-9. But that’s deceiving, as Brad Stevens’ Bulldogs are again showing the talent-and-determination which got them to the national title game a year ago. Butler has won 11 straight. They haven’t lost since February third, and they knocked off top-seeded Pittsburgh and Old Dominion last weekend. Matt Howard had the game-winning shot in both contests, and guard Shelvin Mack scored 30 against Pitt.

Bo Ryan’s Badgers will again look for big performances from its top bench players, Mike Bruesewitz and Josh Gasser. Bruesewitz made 6-of-8 shots in his first two NCAA games, averaging just under 10 points in those outings. Gasser had 11 points, seven rebounds, and two steals in the win over K-State. Tonight’s winner will face either BYU or Florida on Saturday with a spot in the Final Four at stake.

Tomorrow night, Marquette will play North Carolina in the East Regional semi-finals in Newark, New Jersey.
