Panthers edged by Wildcats in season opener

Ellsworth scored three runs in the top of the seventh inning to take a two-run lead, but they lost it in the bottom half of the frame.

Zach Balsiger smacked a two-run double off to win the game.

The loss overshadowed a strong season debut for James Georgakas. The sophomore allowed three earned runs and struck out five in five innings of work. However, the Panthers made five errors in the field.

Jacob Betthauser led EHS at the plate going 3-for-4 with two doubles and three RBIs.

EHS is back in action Thursday in their MBC opener at Durand.
