MILWAUKEE - Milwaukee Bucks’ center Andrew Bogut is done for the season. Coach Scott Skiles said today the 7-foot Bogut will miss the Bucks’ final four games with the elbow problems he’s had all year. Bogut says the famous sports surgeon James Andrews will soon perform arthroscopic surgery on his right elbow. It hasn’t been the same since he took a hard fall to the floor in a game against Phoenix last April. And right now, Bogut says he cannot feel his right arm, and it hurts to shoot-and-pass. The Bucks were eliminated from playoff contention Wednesday night, and Bogut says he wants to get a head start on being ready for next season. Bogut led the NBA in blocked shots with two-point-six per game. But his other numbers were down from a year ago, averaging around 13 points and 11 rebounds in 35 minutes. Bogut also had trouble with a back injury and migraine headaches this season, but his elbow was the main problem. Skiles said forward Ersan Ilyasova and center Jon Brockman are now available to play. Ilyasova has been out since February 26th with a concussion. Brockman has missed four games with an injured left shoulder.

Chris Wilco scored 27 points and took down 13 rebounds, leading Detroit to a 110-100 home victory over the Milwaukee Bucks. Rodney Stuckey added 22. The Bucks trailed most of the way, cutting the lead to four with less than three minutes to go. Brandon Jennings had 31 to lead Milwaukee, but he disappeared late in the game, scoring only four points in the fourth period. Ilyasova scores 18 points.

The University of Wisconsin softball team is now 19-14 overall after shutting out North Dakota in a double-header Thursday. The Badgers blanked the Fighting Sioux 5-0 in the opener, and 7-0 in the nightcap. Wisconsin freshman Cassandra Darrah retired 12 in a row and struck out seven in the opener. Sophomore Meghan McIntosh struck out a career-high 13 in the second game – the most by a Badger pitcher since Letty Olivarez tied a school record with 17 “K’s” in May of last year.

A North Dakota State football player from West Bend has been suspended from the team, after being charged with soliciting minors and disorderly conduct. Coach Craig Bohl said junior receiver Justin Howard violated team rules, but did not elaborate. Howard was charged recently in Cass County with a pair of misdemeanors, and his attorney says Howard maintains his innocence. The Fargo Forum newspaper also said Howard was cited in recent years for possessing alcohol, hosting a loud party, and speeding. Howard played in all 14 games for North Dakota State last year, and started two of them. He caught 24 passes for 280 yards and a touchdown. Howard also returned 20 kick-offs for 454 yards.

The Milwaukee Admirals will complete their American Hockey League regular season with three games this weekend. The Admirals have clinched a playoff spot, and they need just one point to win the West Division crown for the fourth time in eight years. Milwaukee blew opportunities in their last two games to clinch the crown, losing Wednesday night to Grand Rapids 2-1 at home. However, the Admirals lost to the Texas Stars 3-2. They’ll play at Peoria tonight, and then host Grand Rapids on Sunday evening to close out the regular campaign. Texas is tied for third in the West at 40-27-4-6. The Admirals are 42-21-6-8.
