GREEN BAY - If the NFL owners’ lockout ends on time, the Green Bay Packers will start their exhibition season at Cleveland between August 11th-and-15th.
The league announced its preseason schedule yesterday, a day after a federal judge in Minneapolis ordered the two sides to return to mediation.
Dates-and-times have not been set for most games. The Packers are scheduled to host Arizona between August 18th-and-22nd. That’s the one for Milwaukee season-ticket holders. The Packers are then set to play at Indianapolis on August 26th, and they’ll close out the pre-season at home against Kansas City September first-or-second.
CBS plans to televise the Packers-Colts’ game nationally. It’s the third pre-season game, which means most of the starters will play well into the second half to build up some endurance. Last year’s third game appeared to have the intensity of a regular season contest, as the Packers crushed Indianapolis 59-24 at Lambeau Field.
