Letter: Time’s now to take back the republic, he says

TO THE EDITOR: As the federal government continues to build mutually beneficial relationships with corporations and practice “corporatism” or “corporate cronyism,” the average individual is finding less “free choice” in market decisions.
One example is AARP’s support of “Obama care.” AARP pretended to represent the interest of seniors. In fact, because they are an insurance company, their projected profit from this legislation will be $10 billion over the next 10 years. The president is protecting you from those evil insurance companies.
Toilets and light bulbs didn’t satisfy the elite ruling class. They want full control of our food supply. Recently, legislation is being crafted and passed, like S510 to help achieve that end. Huge corporations are spending very large sums to back these bills and reward legislators with campaign donations.
Because many citizens seem to be paralyzed with “normalcy bias,” the government/corporation marriage is expanding exponentially. From voices that sound like exhaustion, I hear statements of despair like “We can’t do anything about it anyway.” This is the mindset that dictators love.
There is no difference between “we can’t” and defeat. On the other hand, there are plenty of examples in scripture of “truth” triumphing against insurmountable odds, as in the account of David vs. Goliath. We still get to choose the mindset we want.
From “The Food Renegade”, Tuesday, March 15, 2011:
“Sedgwick, Maine, has done what no other town in the United States has done. The town unanimously passed an ordinance giving its citizens the right ‘to produce, process, sell, purchase, and consume local foods of their choosing.’ This includes raw milk, locally slaughtered meats, and just about anything else you can imagine. It’s also a decided bucking of state and federal laws.”
Can we stop Leviathan? The time is now, to take back the republic and restore liberty and freedom.
