Ellsworth nine top Baldwin-Woodville 3-1

Ellsworth scored three runs in their first at bats and held on for a 3-1 win over Baldwin-Woodville Monday afternoon.

HAGER CITY - Ellsworth scored three runs in their first at bats and held on for a 3-1 win over Baldwin-Woodville Monday afternoon.

The game was scheduled for Tuesday but moved to Monday to avoid possible bad weather.

James Georgakas was the winning pitcher. He struck out nine batters in a three-hit performance and gave up no earned runs. He also led EHS at the plate with a pair of hits and an RBI.

Bryce Stockwell also drove in a run for Ellsworth and Brady Schroeder had a hit and stole two bases. Both of them scored a run.

Ellsworth gets its second win of the season to improve to 2-3 overall and 2-2 in the MBC. The Panthers host New Richmond Thursday.
