Prescott stays a game behind Somerset in MBC standings

PRESCOTT - Wins over New Richmond last week and Osceola Tuesday have the Prescott High School baseball team firmly in second place in the Middle Border Conference.
The Cardinals topped Osceola Tuesday by a 5-2 score. Somerset defeated New Richmond last night 8-5, keeping the Spartans in first place with a 4-0 conference record. Both Ellsworth and New Richmond are 2-2.
Last week the Cards downed New Richmond 10-5. PHS plated six runs in the bottom of the third inning to take a 10-2 lead. The Redbirds had 10 hits to go with their 10 runs with Billy Brookshaw, Bryan Early and Derrick Munsen each getting two hits. Both Munsen and Brookshaw hit triples. Early and Munsen driven in two runs and Munsen had three RBIs. Jake Hintz scored twice.
Prescott is 4-1 overall and is at Baldwin-Woodville Thursday.
