Elmwood, Spring Valley-PC still playing for first D-SC win
When was the last time both Elmwood and Spring Valley-Plum City prep softball teams ever went through the first two weeks of the Dunn-St. Croix Conference schedule without a win at the same time? Ever?

Well both squads can keep this from happening Thursday as the Raiders host Colfax and SV-PC is at Mondovi. Both games begin at 5 p.m.
Both Pierce County squads won their season openers, both non-conference games. Elmwood topped Durand 5-3 and Spring Valley-PC edged Clear Lake 5-4.
Since then both squads have struggled since the beginnning of league play. Elmwood especially this has had two tough, one-run losses: 3-2 to Boyceville and 2-1 against St. Croix Central. The Cardinals also lost a one-run game, 5-4 to Glenwood City last week. Spring Valley-PC will be taking on a Mondovi squad also looking for its first win.
Also in Pierce County softball Thursday afternoon: Prescott can get back into first place in the Middle Border Conference if they can beat unbeaten Baldwin-Woodville at Baldwin while Ellsworth can also climb into first place with a Prescott win and a win over New Richmond, who the Panthers host this afternoon. Both games also begin at 5 p.m.
