Timberwolves Love named NBA's Most Improved player
Minnesota Sports- Timberwolves forward Kevin Love has been named the NBA's Most Improved Player for the 2010-11 season. Love received 66 first-place votes and a total of 400 points from a panel of 116 sportswriters and broadcasters throughout the United States and Canada, topping Portland's LaMarcus Aldridge for the honor.
(New York, NY) -- Timberwolves forward Kevin Love has been named the NBA's Most Improved Player for the 2010-11 season. Love received 66 first-place votes and a total of 400 points from a panel of 116 sportswriters and broadcasters throughout the United States and Canada, topping Portland's LaMarcus Aldridge for the honor.
Love averaged 20.2 points and a league-best 15.2 rebounds in 73 games this season, an increase from his production of 14 points and 11 rebounds in the previous season. He set a post-merger era NBA record with 53 straight double-doubles, a streak that came to an end on March 13th.
In his third season out of UCLA, Love was named an All-Star this year for the first time. He became the first player to average at least 20 points and 15 rebounds since Moses Malone in 1982-83.
