Ellsworth's softball team won its only game of the week, a 12-3 pasting of rival Durand at home Friday. The win sweeps the season series for EHS.
The Panthers smashed out 14 hits.
"We overcame our sloppy defense with some solid offense," Ellsworth coach Ryan Casper said. "We hit the ball pretty hard."
Ellsworth committed four errors and all three of Durand's runs were unearned. Halle Hatch struck out five and walked two in five innings of work.
At the plate, Hatch was 2-for-4 with a triple, two runs scored and an RBI. Kayla Christopherson was 3-for-4 with a home run, a triple, three runs scored and three RBI.
Ellsworth is 5-1 in the Middle Border Conference and plays host to Somerset on Tuesday.
Prescott stayed one-game behind the Panthers after clocking Amery Friday 13-1. PHS improves to 6-2 overall.
