Spring Valley moves into lead of Dunn-St. Croix Small

An 11-5 win at Plum City coupled with a 5-4 loss by Pepin at Elmwood puts Spring Valley's baseball team in first place in the Dunn-St. Croix Small Division after Friday's ballgames.
The Cardinals are 3-3 in the league while Pepin drops to 2-4, tied with Elmwood.
Valley plated five runs in the top of the second inning at Legion Park to take a 7-3 lead and added a few more runs for good measure. SV only had six hits but the Blue Devils were generous enough with the to the tune of five errors and six walks.
Willy Elliot led the Cardinals with four runs and two RBIs. Braden Johnson also drove in two runs off two hits and scored three times himself. SV pitcher Derek Biggs struck out eight to get the win while Zac Newton came on in relief in the seventh to pick up the save.
Elmwood moved to a game behind Spring Valley with its win over the Lakers. The Raiders had just three hits in the game but scored four unearned runs off four Pepin errors.
