UW golfers in 18th after first day of NCAA regional meet
Wisconsin Sports-- The University of Wisconsin women’s golf team is 18th among 24 schools competing in the NCAA Central Regional tournament at Notre Dame.
SOUTH BEND, Ind. - The University of Wisconsin women’s golf team is 18th among 24 schools competing in the NCAA Central Regional tournament at Notre Dame.
The Badgers shot 26-over-314 in yesterday’s first round. That’s 23 strokes behind the leader, UCLA. Freshman Kris Yoo is Wisconsin’s top individual so far. She’s tied for 36th, after shooting a four-over-par 76. The three-round tournament runs through tomorrow.

Two Wisconsin golfers had a rough start yesterday at the PGA’s Wells Fargo Championship in Charlotte. Pewaukee native Mark Wilson is tied for 93rd after shooting a two-over-par 74 in his first round. Appleton native J.P. Hayes shot a four-over-76, and is tied for 126th. Bill Haas is the leader at eight-under.

On the PGA Champions’ Tour, Rhinelander native Dan Forsman is tied for 20th after the first round of the Regions’ Tradition tournament in Birmingham, Alabama. Forsman shot an even-par 72 yesterday. Tom Lehman has the lead at minus-five.
