Spring Valley high school's baseball team extended its win streak and its lead in the Dunn-St. Croix Small Division with a decisive 6-1 win over Elmwood Thursday.
Spring Valley high school's baseball team extended its win streak and its lead in the Dunn-St. Croix Small Division with a decisive 6-1 win over Elmwood Thursday.
Spring Valley is 5-3 in the D-SC Small while Elmwood dropped to 3-5 in the league.
Derek Biggs not only was the winning pitcher for the Cardinals but was SV's top hitter as well, knocking out three hits, including a solo home run along with three runs scored. Valley only had six hits in the game but were helped by six Elmwood errors. The Cards' also stole eight bases. Biggs had three of them and he struck out seven batters.
Brian Tolonen hit a solo home run for the Raiders which tied the game at 1-1 in the bottom of the first inning.
