ST. LOUIS - If your team's not scoring much, you have to hold the other guys without any runs. Yovani Gallardo broke a recent slump by carrying a no-hitter into the eighth inning and leading Milwaukee to a 4-0 win at St. Louis Saturday.
Gallardo finished with a one-hit shutout combined with John Axford, besting Kyle Lohse in a pitchers' duel. The only hit for St. Louis was Daniel Descalso's single up the middle in the eighth.
The win broke a seven-game losing streak for Milwaukee. Casey McGehee doubled in Prince Fielder in the third for the only run Gallardo would need. Carlos Gomez provided two insurance runs on a triple in the ninth.
