Raiders sweep doubleheader against Mondovi
Elmwood High School's softball team snapped a five-game losing streak by sweeping a doubleheader against winless Mondovi Monday.
MONDOVI - Elmwood High School's softball team snapped a five-game losing streak by sweeping a doubleheader against winless Mondovi Monday.
Elmwood beat Mondovi 5-3 in game one and 10-5 in game two. The winning pitchers were Kelsey Leach and McKayla Brunner respectively.
Brunner hit a triple in game one and drove in two runs with a single in the second game. Her sister Amanda Brunner hit a double in game one. Elmwood won despite being outhit in both games.
The Raiders improve to 6-9 overall and 4-9 in the league. They take on Elk Mound at home this afternoon at 5 p.m. The Mounders too, swept a doubleheader Monday, 7-0 and 3-1 over Spring Valley-Plum City.
