Prescott goes up against No. 1 Altoona, loses 14-6

Prescott High School's baseball team tested themselves against the state's best in the Division 2 Tuesday at Firehall Field. And Altoona showed why they are considered the best in winning 14-6.

PRESCOTT - Prescott High School's baseball team tested themselves against the state's best in the Division 2 Tuesday at Firehall Field. And Altoona showed why they are considered the best in winning 14-6.

PHS got the early lead on the No. 1 ranked Railroaders 3-0 after their first at bats. But Altoona scored seven runs in the third inning and put four more on the board in the fourth to go ahead 11-3. The Cardinals were unable to catch up.

The Cardinals did get 10 hits led by Billy Brookshaw's three and Derrick Munsen's two. Munsen hit a double and Austin Tulip drove in two runs.

Prescott, 13-4 overall, will play Hudson at home Thursday and will host the regional semifinal next Tuesday.
