PLUM CITY - The Plum City boys and girls basketball coaches both resigned at the latest School Board meeting.

Paul Churchill stepped down Friday after one season in charge of the boys program. He guided the Blue Devils to the Division 5 sectional championship game. His son, Tyler, was a senior on the team.

Churchill said he resigned to focus on his full-time job. He's the grade 6-12 principal at Plum City. Churchill is also in charge of transportation and food service for the district.

"(Coaching is) just too much to try and do with the job that I have," he said.

Todd Bjurquist, who was Churchill's assistant, is a possible replacement, according to Churchill. Plum City will have to find coaches without the lure of teaching jobs. Churchill said there are no teacher openings as of now.

After Plum City went 1-41 over his final two seasons, Jason Glampe resigned as the girls basketball coach.

Churchill said Glampe was not in school Wednesday and Glampe didn't immediately return a message seeking comment.

Plum City also is in the midst of a search for a superintendent, athletic director and football coach.

PC's boys made it all the way to the sectional finals this past season and Glampe had led the Blue Devil girls all the way to the regional finals in 2009. Plum City had three straight winning seasons under Glampe before embarking on a long losing streak from 2009 broken by a 52-27 win over Spring Valley on March 3.
