(Minneapolis, MN) -- Multiple sources are reporting that Ricky Rubio has agreed to join the Minnesota Timberwolves next season.

Rubio was the fifth overall pick by Minnesota in the 2009 NBA Draft and spent the last two seasons playing professionally in his native Spain. The 20-year-old was the first player born in the 1990's to be drafted in the NBA. The T-Wolves had agreed with Rubio's former Spanish team to buy out his contract, but Rubio backed out of the deal, and later was traded to FC Barcelona.

The six-foot-three-inch point guard is currently playing in the Euroleague playoffs.

Kevin McHale is officially the new head coach of the Houston Rockets. The former Minnesota Timberwolves coach replaces Rick Adelman, who was fired after four seasons. McHale was let go by the T'wolves in 2009 and had been working most recently as a television analyst. The 53-year-old won three NBA titles as a Hall of Fame player with the Boston Celtics. He is a Hibbing native and starred for the Golden Gophers.

With the NBA Finals underway, the league is hoping to avoid following in the NFL's footsteps behind the scenes. Speaking before Game One in Miami on Tuesday, commissioner David Stern said it will be a challenge to get a new collective bargaining agreement in place before the current CBA expires June 30th. The two sides talked on Wednesday in Miami, with two more sessions planned for next week when the series shifts to Dallas. If the two sides fail to reach an agreement, a lockout could begin after June 30th. With no CBA, the NFL has been in a lockout since early March.
