Two injured in motorcycle-deer accident near Prescott
PRESCOTT -- A man and a woman were thrown from their motorcylce and injured when their bike struck a deer that was crossing Hwy. 35 Sunday afternoon.
PRESCOTT -- A man and a woman were thrown from their motorcylce and injured when their bike struck a deer that was crossing Hwy. 35 Sunday afternoon.
Riders Anthony Devito, 52, and Tanya Devito, 43 from Chaska, Minn. were operating a 2009 Harley-Davidson motorcycle southbound on Hwy. 35 about a mile south of County Road E in the town of Oak Grove when the bike hit a deer crossing the highway. The bike left the road and entered into a ditch on the west side where both riders were ejected.
Anthony was transported by Life Link Helicopter from the scene to Regions Hospital in St. Paul while Tanya was taken by Mayo Helicopter from the scene to Regions. Both had undetermined injuries, according to the Pierce County Sheriff's Department report.
Assisting at the scene were officials from the sheriff's department, the Prescott Fire department, Prescott Ambulance and Ellsworth Paramedic.
