MILWAUKEE - College basketball’s scoring leader is apparently not interested in playing for the Milwaukee Bucks. The Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel quoted a source who said it’s doubtful that Jimmer Fredette will accept the Bucks’ invitation for a pre-draft workout.

Fredette has already auditioned with New York and Indiana. He’ll work out for Sacramento today, and he’s scheduled to show his stuff for Utah and Phoenix before draft that’s set for two weeks from tonight. Fredette averaged almost 30 points a game for Brigham Young last season. The Bucks are looking for a solid backup to point guard Brandon Jennings – and they’re hoping to audition UConn’s Kemba Walker and Washington State’s Klay Thompson. Colorado shooting guard Alec Burks bruised his left shoulder during a workout for the Bucks last weekend – but he was expected to audition for Detroit yesterday.

NFL owners and players continued confidential labor discussions this week, according to a joint statement released today. The sides met last week near Chicago and, according to the NFL Network, got together again today to conclude two days of talks. NFLPA head DeMaurice Smith represented the players at the meetings, which reportedly took place at an undisclosed New York hotel. The two sides are looking to reach a new collective bargaining agreement and end the lockout. The owners locked out the players in March after the most recent CBA expired.

Green Bay Packers’ receiver Greg Jennings is using part of his time during the NFL lockout to advance his acting career. Jennings had a minor role last year in an episode of the CBS show “Criminal Minds.” And after the Super Bowl, the producers of the USA Network show “Royal Pains” wrote a script for Jennings. He went to the Hamptons on Long Island for four days of filming in May – and the director praised him for doing almost all his scenes in just one-or-two takes. Jennings will play himself in a football episode of “Royal Pains,” but he’ll be a coach in the episode. The show’s Web site says the new season will begin June 29th. Jennings is not sure when his episode will air. He’s also been on a network awards show during the lockout – and he says his performing gives him new avenues to pursue with his life.
