Baldwin-Woodville to play for state softball title

MADISON - Union Grove will play undefeated Baldwin-Woodville tomorrow for the Division-Two state high school softball title. Both teams won their semi-finals last night at Goodman Diamond.

Union Grove edged Oconto Falls 2-0, as Alice Fitzpatrick threw a two-hitter. Baldwin-Woodville advanced with a 10-0, five-inning victory over Monroe. Abby Klopp tossed a three-hitter and drove in three-runs.

Earlier yesterday, four teams advanced in Division-One. Chippewa Falls edged Appleton East 5-4. Stevens Point blanked Madison La Follette 8-0. Kenosha Bradford shut out Mequon Homestead 3-0. And Wilmot crushed Oconomowoc 10-0 in five innings. Chippewa Falls will play Stevens Point in tonight’s semi-finals, and Kenosha Bradford will take on Wilmot.

This morning, the Division-Four semi-finals begin. Highland plays Chippewa Falls McDonell. And then defending champ Tigerton goes against Oakfield. The Division-Three semis are set for this afternoon. Hurley plays Poynette and Stevens Point Pacelli takes on Horicon.

Title games will be played tomorrow in all four divisions.
