Sunday State Sports Briefs: B-W falls in D-2 title game
Baldwin-Woodville lost 1-0 to Union Grove in the WIAA State Softball Tournament finals Saturday in Division 2.
MADISON - Baldwin-Woodville lost 1-0 to Union Grove in the WIAA State Softball Tournament finals Saturday in Division 2 at the University of Wisconsin's Goodman Diamond.
Winning pitcher Alicia Fitzpatrick struck out 12 B-W batters and held the Blackhawks to just three hits in their first and only loss of the season. Union Grove scored the game's only run in the first inning as Natalie Zanella drove in Katrina O'Keefe with a single. B-W also had two errors in the game.
