Giants snap Twins' winning streak

SAN FRANSCISCO -- Ryan Vogelsong tossed seven strong innings to lead the Giants to a 5-1 win over the Twins.
Vogelsong allowed only an unearned run and three hits while striking out three to improve to 5-1. Eli Whiteside laced a two-run triple and an RBI single to help San Francisco snap a five-game losing streak. Michael Cuddyer scored on an error in the seventh for the Twins, who had their season-high winning streak stopped at eight. Nick Blackburn permitted two earned runs over six innings to fall to 6-5.

Travis Hafner clubbed a two-run homer as the Indians held off the Rockies 4-3 in Cleveland last night. Grady Sizemore laced an RBI single to help the Tribe avoid a sweep in the three-game series. With the Indians win and the Twins loss, Minnesota falls to seven-and-a-half-games behind Cleveland in the American League Central Division standings.
