PRESCOTT – Susana Tuthill was a police officer for 10 years in Minnesota when she felt a career change was needed.
“I’ve been passionate about skin care for about 20 years and decided to take a leap of faith,” she explained. “I always believe in ‘do what you love’ and (skin care) is what I was doing in my off-time anyway.”
With that in mind, Susana’s Skin Care held its grand opening this past weekend in Prescott. The business is located at 209½ Broad St., Suite 4, or above Edina Realty.
“I never dreamed of having my own business,” she said. “But things started evolving.”
The Cottage Grove, Minn., native said the interest started when watching her mother put on lotion and face cream as a child and it grew from there.
Clients to Susana’s will be able to pick from a variety of options – facials, waxing (both hard and soft), chemical peels and eyebrow tinting.
One of the options for facials is a 30-minute special for teens where cleansing and exfoliation aren’t the only topics discussed.
“I’m going to be talking to them throughout the whole facial about keeping the skin healthy and clear from acne,” she said. “Skin is skin. Everyone needs to take care of it. If you treat it improperly, acne will develop. But, if you keep your skin clear, product can move freely.”
