Washboard
The fifth annual Pioneer Day was held by the Pierce County Historical Association at the River Bluffs History Center in Bay City Saturday. Despite some rain, the event attracted many area residents and out-of-towners interested in the day of games, craft demonstrations, history and old-time activities. A washboard was set up on the grounds to show how laundry was done by the pioneers.

Norquist
John Norquist of Diamond Bluff had an exhibit under the tent at the Pierce County Historical Association’s Pioneer Day Saturday. Norquist emphasized his favorite early days of river travel, but added an HO gauge railroad to his display this year.

Children’s activities were a popular part of Pioneer Day on the grounds of the River Bluffs History Center Saturday. Some event goers dressed in attire from the past.
