MINNEAPOLIS -- Several media outlets are reporting that the Timberwolves have interviewed former Atlanta Hawks head coach Mike Woodson about the head coaching job in Minnesota.

Woodson helped rebuild the Hawks into a playoff team over his six seasons there. He was fired from the job prior to last season. The 53-year-old Woodson played college ball for Bob Knight at Indiana University.

The Wolves have also talked to Terry Porter and will likely interview several others. Former coach Kurt Rambis was fired on July 12th.

The Minnesota Timberwolves have released their schedule for next season, although there's no guarantee there will be a season. An NBA players lockout continues and hopes aren't as high as with the NFL that play will resume at the start of the respective NBA season. The Wolves schedule opens on November 2nd with a home game against the Altanta Hawks. This will be the 11th straight season that Minnesota has opened at home. Some featured home games include single visits from Miami on March 13th and Boston on March 30th. The NBA Champion Dallas Mavericks will visit the Target Center on December 23rd and February 3rd. The Lakers also make two trips to Minnesota on January 29th and February 19th.
