NHL All-Stars to play in charity game in Cottage Grove
Rivertowns Area News-- A star-studded charity hockey game is scheduled for tonight in Cottage Grove. NHL players Taylor Chorney of the Oilers, Derek Stepan of the Rangers, and Jeff Taffe of the Wild are organizing the event, which will raise funds for the Cottage Grove Hockey Association, the Hastings Hockey Association, and the "Defending the Blue Line" organization.
COTTAGE GROVE -- A star-studded charity hockey game is scheduled for tonight in Cottage Grove. NHL players Taylor Chorney of the Oilers, Derek Stepan of the Rangers, and Jeff Taffe of the Wild are organizing the event, which will raise funds for the Cottage Grove Hockey Association, the Hastings Hockey Association, and the "Defending the Blue Line" organization.
"Defending the Blue Line" assists families of military veterans with costs associated for children to play hockey. NHL players slated to appear in the game include Brent Burns of the Sharks, T.J. Oshie and David Backes of the Blues, Zach Parise of the Devils, Blaker Wheeler of the Jets, Erik Johnson of the Avalanche, Alex Goligoski of the Stars, Matt Hendricks of the Caps, Jamie McBain of the Hurricanes, Ryan McDonagh of the Rangers, Kyle Okposo of the Islanders, Dan Sexton of the Ducks, and Drew Stafford of the Sabres. Retired NHL player Phil Housley, a hockey hall of famer, will also play.
The event will be at the Cottage Grove Ice Arena this evening at 7 p.m. Tickets are $35 per person and can be purchased at the Cottage Grove Ice Arena and the Hastings Ice Arena.
